Michigan’s weekend may have appearances by the sun

This weekend will have fairly nice weather for early November. The temperatures won’t be out of line on the cold side or the warm side. Here’s a quick look at what you can expect in weather.

The main driver of this weekend’s weather is no storm system moving through the Great Lakes. This means that just about all of us won’t have any precipitation this weekend. I say almost all of us because this is the time of year when a stray rain or snow shower can drift onshore from Lake Michigan or Lake Huron. It’s not a shower that would last very long.

Here is the radar forecast for this weekend. You’ll notice no large area of precipitation and just a few isolated lakeshore showers Saturday. Sunday should be dry everywhere.

If there is a stray shower or two it would be from the Grand Traverse region to Ludington and Pentwater, but it’s definitely not a precipitation event to change your plans over.

Temperatures are going to be about normal for early November. This means a somewhat cold start to the day and a chilly afternoon. Here are the low and high temperatures for this weekend.

The overnight temperatures will drop a few degrees below freezing across most of Michigan with the exception of right at the Great Lakes’ shorelines.

Saturday you will want a winter coat to wear.

Sunday afternoon will still be chilly with the need for a winter coat.

The good news in Michigan weather is we should stay a stretch with some sunshine. Here is the total cloud cover forecast. You don’t see totally sunny skies all weekend. We will get intervals that have some sunshine.

And one thing we notice is the strong clearing trend late Sunday. This could set us up for a fairly sunny Monday.

Bundle up a touch and enjoy a dry weekend.
