Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick have been together for 10 years now, and age seems but a number to them.

In a new interview with The Times published Sept. 21, Hamrick, 37, acknowledged the 44-year age gap between her and Jagger, 81, advising people to "mind their own business."

"I don't think about it. Everyone's going to have their opinion. If you think about others' opinions, no matter where you are in life, you're going to have a problem and you're going to analyze it," she told the publication.

Hamrick continued, "I put the blinders on. Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business."

The former ballerina and legendary rock singer met 10 years ago after a Rolling Stones concert and now share one son. Read on for more about Hamrick and their relationship.

Hamrick, then 26, was a dancer with the American Ballet Theatre in New York City, and the ballerinas were all gifted tickets while also performing in the Japanese capital. According to the publication, Jagger greeted her backstage with a fist bump before performing.

In March 2014, fashion designer L'Wren Scott, Jagger's girlfriend at the time, died by suicide at the age of 49, the BBC reported . At the time, Jagger was on tour with the Rolling Stones in Australia and issued a statement to the BBC saying he was "completely shocked and devastated" by the loss.

The Times reported that by the summer of 2014, Jagger and Hamrick had begun dating.

Hamrick also told the publication that she, Jagger and their son, Devereaux, have tooth gems — though only Jagger's are diamonds.

Most recently, Jagger and Devereaux were seen at the 2024 Paris Olympics watching a fencing match. They were photographed at the Grand Palais in Paris, on July 27.

Though the two only share Devereaux, Jagger has a total of eight children , whom he shares with five different women.

The "Satisfaction" singer has Karis, 53 (with actress and novelist Marsha Hunt); Jade, 52 (with model Bianca Jagger); Elizabeth, 40, James, 39, Georgia, 32, Gabriel, 26 (with model Jerry Hall), Lucas, 25 (with model Luciana Gimenez Morad); and Devereaux.

In her September interview, Hamrick said dating Jagger is "the perfect balance."

Hamrick retired from ballet in 2019 after ultimately spending 16 years with the American Ballet Theatre.

"Leaving was definitely a difficult decision but I felt it was time," she told TODAY in a June 2023 interview . "I had probably burnt myself out rushing back to stage too quickly (after giving birth) and trying to be superwoman and I was like 'you know what, i did a great job and it's enough.'"

In an interview with the New York Times when she retired from the dance company, she said she planned to do more choreography work. Her social media account shows she did go on to choreograph several dances and shows but eventually moved into writing. Her time at the American Ballet Theatre served as inspiration for her steamy dance-driven novels.

Hamrick published her debut novel, "First Position," in June 2023, along with another novel, "The Unraveling," just last month.

In her June 2023 interview with TODAY , she said that she finds the "ballet world incredibly beautiful and sexy."

"I love reading romance so I found why isn't there a romance book set at the ballet?" she added. "That's something I'd want to read."

In her interview with The Times, Hamrick added that she is "thankful" to have found her next step in writing books.

"I'm really thankful I found writing. I see some dancers holding on when they leave, and you just want them to find peace because some dancers should be ballet dancers and some should move on," she told The Times.

Nowadays, Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick are constantly on the move, primarily splitting their time between a townhouse in the Chelsea neighborhood of London and a château on the Loire River in France, per The Times.

"Mick can't stay put and I'm similar. I'll say, 'I want to stay put.' Then after two weeks, I'm, like, 'Where are we going?'" Hamrick told the publication, adding that Devereaux goes to school in France and has tutors while traveling.

In an effort to keep Devereaux grounded, Hamrick also noted that she's been known to take a "reset" with her son in her apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side. She told The Times that the apartment is the same spot where she lived as a dancer.

"It's a very nice apartment, but it's not a hotel," she said. "(Devereaux) helps me with the laundry, he helps me cook dinner. We take the subway."
