In 1996, Tyson took on Evander Holyfield and lost with a TKO. During their rematch, Tyson went on to famously bite part of Holyfield's ear off in the third round. He was disqualified and he also lost his boxing license for the move.

In 2020, Tyson opened up about the infamous bite fight in an interview with Zab Judah.

"[Holyfield] knew he intentionally head-butted me because I was intentionally head-butting him," Tyson told Zab, explaining what led to him biting Holyfield's ear. "I was just mad and pissed off, and I was bleeding. I thought they would probably stop the fight because of my eye and I just lost it."

As for whether or not Tyson actually had a part of Holyfield's ear in his mouth, the Brooklyn native said he did and "spit it out." Ultimately, Tyson said he "wished" he hadn't taken a bite out of his opponent.
