Minden woman dies as a result of crash on I-20

(KSLA) — A 23-year-old Minden woman died within two days of being involved in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20, Louisiana State Police reported Thursday (Oct. 17).

Troop G was notified that on Oct. 13, Ruby Brantley had succumbed to her injuries.

The crash occurred about 3 p.m. Oct. 11 on I-20 west of Louisiana Highway 9 at Arcadia.

Preliminary investigation shows that Brantley was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion west on I-20 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the road and entered a ditch, where it began overturning, Troop G reported.

Brantley, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Although impairment is not suspected, routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis.
