Missing 2 days, Sandy mushroom hunter walks out safe
PORTLAND, Ore. () — A 40-year-old mushroom hunter, missing since Sunday in the Mount Hood National Forest, was found safe Tuesday morning as he walked out of the Eagle Creek Trail.
The search for Nathan Kelly began Sunday evening after Kelly and a friend got separated in dense forest terrain, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office said in a release. Search-and-rescue volunteers immediately began looking for Kelly east of SE Wildcat Mountain Drive near Sandy.

More search efforts took place on Monday, and drones were brought in to look at areas that are hard to reach, officials said. The weather wasn't helpful in the search, as high winds, heavy rain, hail and cold temperatures settled in.
But Tuesday morning, Kelly, cold and wet but OK, walked out of the Eagle Creek Trail and onto SE Harvey Road, authorities said.
The Clackamas County search was also helped by rescue crews from Portland, Hood River, Mountain Wave and AMR.
