Shaine Magee was the hero for fourth-seeded Monroe, No. 12 in the NJ.com Top 20, as she scored the game-winning goal in double overtime to defeat fifth-seeded Hillsborough 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the Central Jersey, Group 4 Tournament in Monroe Township. Emma Burness assisted on the deciding goal while Natalia Andrade made one save to give Monroe (16-2-1) its 12th shutout of the season. Ania Nevaeh Lopez-Acuna recorded 10 saves for Hillsborough (12-5-2). Monroe will face eighth-seeded Montgomery in the semifinals on Monday. The Falcons clinched their second straight Greater Middlesex Conference championship when it beat Old Bridge 1-0 on Oct. 29. Monroe won its sixth straight game, all via shutout.
