Most Rapid City park restrooms closing soon for the season

R.Campbell10 days ago

With colder weather approaching, most restroom facilities in Rapid City's parks will close for the winter season after Monday.

However, a few select restrooms and portable facilities will remain available during the fall and winter months.

The restrooms at the Sioux Park playground will remain open until Oct. 31, while those at Sioux Park Stadium will be accessible during scheduled activities in October.

Starting Tuesday, three year-round restroom facilities — Skyline Wilderness Park, Founders Park and Canyon Lake-West — will switch to winter hours, operating from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facilities will close during inclement weather.

Portable restrooms will be available throughout the winter season at several locations, including Canyon Lake Shelter #3, Braeburn Park, LaCroix Park, West Fulton trailhead, Robbinsdale Park walking path and Jackson Park. A portable restroom will also be available at the Omaha football fields for fall football activities.

All restroom facilities will reopen on May 1, marking the start of the spring and summer park seasons.
