Motorcycle crash with bicyclist kills 2 near San Antonio

Tragedy struck the San Antonio area in the form of a fatal crash near Randolph Air Force Base this weekend. Two people have died , while another was transported to a local hospital after the collision.

The crash was between two people on a motorcycle and a bicyclist, with the passenger on the motorcycle being taken to University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Schertz Police Department was called to the intersection of Farm to Market Road 1518 and Schaefer Road at around 11:22 p.m. on Sunday night, September 29, to investigate the scene, according to a news release .

The incident happened at the intersection near the Dollar General Store and Rose Garden Elementary School.

"The Schertz Police Department investigators are currently looking into the circumstances of the accident and are waiting to confirm next of kin notification before releasing the identities of the victims," the release writes. "The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families affected by this tragic event."

MySA reached out for a comment on whether the investigation has discovered the cause of the crash. Schertz responded to MySA by saying the investigation is still ongoing and the next of kin still haven't been informed of the deaths as of yet. More information will be released as the investigation continues.
