Motorcyclist dead after northwest Las Vegas valley crash
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A motorcyclist is dead after a crash in the northwest Las Vegas valley, police said.
On Sunday around 6:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a crash involving a motorcycle in the area of Rancho Drive and Ricky Road near Cheyenne Avenue.
Police said a truck was traveling northbound on Rancho when it attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection. The driver of the truck made a three-point turn and a motorcyclist traveling southbound on Rancho laid the bike down in an attempt to avoid a crash.
As the motorcyclist slid under the truck, he was run over by the truck. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
According RTC Southern Nevada, Rancho Drive was closed between Cheyenne Avenue and Gowan Road.
