Sep. 27—A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle Friday in East Anchorage, police said.

Anchorage police officers responded to the fatal accident around 3:45 p.m. Friday, police said in a statement. An initial investigation indicated a Honda motorcycle that was heading south on Boniface Parkway collided with a Subaru Crosstrek that was traveling westbound on Caribou Avenue, police said.

The southbound lanes of Boniface at the Glenn Highway overpass and northbound lanes of Boniface at Caribou Avenue will remain closed while officers process the scene, police said.

The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said, and a bystander performed lifesaving measures on the scene until the Anchorage Fire Department arrived, police said. The rider was taken to a hospital and ultimately declared dead, police said.

The driver of the Subaru stayed on the scene and was cooperating with police, according to their statement. No charges or citations have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

The Anchorage police asked anyone who might have information about the collision to call police dispatch at 311.
