Mount Holly Township to hold Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade on December 1st

Mount Holly Township is thrilled to invite the community to join us for a festive evening at our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade on Friday, December 1st, from 6 P.M.-9 P.M. The event promises a magical start to the holiday season for residents and visitors of all ages.

Key Event Highlights:

Holiday Music: The night kicks off with the Mark Fury band which will be providing holiday music starting at 6 PM, creating a great atmosphere for all in attendance.

Christmas Parade: The night continues will a spectacular Christmas parade featuring local groups, bands, Christmas characters, police and fire vehicles, and more. The parade will lead the big man himself, Santa Claus along with Mrs. Claus to the Township Christmas tree located at the corner of High and Washington Streets. In addition, to the fabulous groups marching in the parade, this year we will be featuring a float competition sponsored by Mill Race Village with a top prize of $400.

Tree Lighting Ceremony: Following the parade, Santa Claus will join Mayor Chris Banks to illuminate the Township tree, officially kicking off the holiday season.

Additional Activities: The event includes a variety of activities for the young and old alike, such as holiday movies on a big screen, a Christmas train for kids that will travel throughout the downtown area, a Human Snow globe where groups of four can receive a free photo keepsake, hot chocolate, Main Street Mount Holly will be hosting an arts and crafts table in the lobby of Rowan College at Burlington County, festive rides, pictures with Santa and performances by local musical groups.

New This year: Aunt Martha’s Funnel Cakes will be providing 200 festive free funnel cakes and/or fried Oreos including water or hot chocolate for the 1st 250 guests along with a Human Snow globe, where groups of up to four individuals can receive a free photo keepsake to remember the occasion.

Mayor Chris Banks expressed his excitement, saying, “The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and parade is a long-cherished tradition here in Mount Holly. It’s a time for our community to come together and celebrate the joy of the season. I look forward to seeing families and friends enjoying all the great activities that we have to offer.”

This years’ event is brought to you by Mount Holly Township, and is sponsored by Mill Race Village, and Main Street Mount Holly. For the first time this year, Mount Holly Township will host a holiday house decorating contest with a top prize of $125 for each category. Categories include most original house, most creative use of lights, best use of inflatables, the “Griswold” award, and best-animated yard.

Rich DiFolco, Special Events Coordinator, added, “This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever. We’ve added new activities, performances, and even a Holiday house decorating contest. It’s a wonderful way to bring the holiday cheer to Mount Holly.”
