MSgt Lester and Margarete Nelson OBITUARY
It started with schnitzel.
In 1952 a young GI fresh from the Pacific theater was walking down the cobblestone streets of Frankfurt, Germany and spied, a young woman sitting at the window of a tavern. He turned to his best friend and said I'm going to marry that woman.
From WW2 Germany to Washington, Texas, Germany again, San Diego, Korea, Cambodia, Phillipines,Vietnam and finally San Francisco, these two survived together for 63 years of marriage. Margie was stern and serious and Lester was playful and loving. Together they raised not only two daughters , two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, but almost every doctor's child on the Presidio of San Francisco. They were residents of Walnut Creek for 50 years
And now we take the time to say our final goodbyes.
On Thursday, November 21st at 1:30 pm, with full honor guard, Margaret and MSgt Lester Nelson will be interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery located in Dixon California.
