MURRYSVILLE MAN PLEADS GUILTY

A Murrysville man pleaded guilty to charges connected with the stabbing of his mother. The Trib reports that 32-year-old Andrew Fairbank pleaded guilty to lesser charges after Westmoreland County Judge Tim Krieger rejected a proposed deal to plead guilty to misdemeanor counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment and to serve four years on probation for stabbing his mother last February. Prosecutors would dismiss charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault under the deal. Yesterday, Fairbank was ordered to serve up to 23 months in jail and two years of probation and house arrest, which allows for his immediate release from incarceration and into the care of a crisis mental health treatment program.
