HOUSTON — On Friday, Sept. 27, 19-year-old Cody Walker Johnson was shot and killed in an apparent road rage incident on the Katy Freeway.

Now, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Johnson's family, and Crime Stoppers are calling on the community to help find who's responsible for his death.

The shooting happened on the Katy Freeway between Beltway 8 and Highway 99. He was found in his vehicle along the service road with gunshot wounds. He was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital, but was ultimately pronounced dead.

"My heart will never be the same without Cody," his mother, Amy Juneau, said through tears at Friday's news conference. "I just urge, urge anyone with any information to come forward, report to Crime Stoppers. Nothing will bring Cody back, but if there's any justice that can come out of this, just please help us find justice for Cody."

Johnson's parents said the 19-year-old loved life.

"That morning, he said, 'Dad, I'm so happy.' Somebody that's that happy shouldn't be in a grave," his father, Mike Johnson said. "We will not stop, because his value to this world was so much."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to his killer's charging and/or arrest. If you know anything, you're asked to contact them at 713-222-8477.
