My Mum, Your Dad viewers have called out Paul Edwards returning to the mansion to find love again.

Fans watched on Thursday as Paul, 49, made a surprise entrance as he crashed a group dinner.

Viewers said Paul already had his chance on the show, after he starred in series one and have a romance with Natalie Russell, only to split after filming.

Upon his shocking return to the mansion with his daughter Mazey, 22, disgruntled fans took to X to complain.

One viewer raged: 'Why the hell have they brought Paul back, he had his chance. Sure there's loads of men who would have loved the chance #mymumyourdad';

'Completely forgot that they would all know who Paul was. Not sure why he's been allowed back though.'

'Shocking having Paul back. Lazy from ITV. He met someone last year and had his chance. Plenty of other people must have applied. #mymumyourdad #Paul.'; 'Were there no other applicants they could've chosen rather than bring Paul back #mymumyourdad'.

After returning to the mansion with his daughter Mazey , Paul explained why he decided to return for a second shot at love.

He explained: 'I've been taking some time out and enjoying my own time. I have a clearer idea of what I want now after S1 of the show.'

'Plus it really does work, as you see Roger and Janey still going strong and if it doesn't work out, you get to meet some amazing people.'

He also discussed his previous relationship with Natalie and admitted they didn't work out as they were 'two very different people' but he is pleased they shared the experience together as it 'wouldn't have been the same without her'.

He said: 'I think we are just two very different people. When you're in the house it's very much a holiday environment,'

'But when you come out you're back to reality with your jobs, and distance, it adds another layer.'

He added: 'I'm so pleased we had the experience together as my time in the retreat in S1 wouldn't have been the same without her.'

Paul is hoping to be luckier in love on this series and would like to be in a serious relationship before he turns 50.

During Friday's episode, he will show an interest in single mum Steph - the first step in his new bid for love.

After the show aired in 2023, Paul's ex Natalie shared the sad news that she and Paul had split.

The fan favourites went from strength to strength on the ITV dating show dubbed 'middle-aged Love Island' hosted by Davina McCall .

But the pair were unable to make things work in the real world, with The Sun claiming that they struggled to adapt after leaving the 'filming bubble' and being long distance.

Last September, Natalie posted a clip to her Instagram where she alluded to having gone through a tough time, saying it was hard to watch the show back.

She said it was hard seeing herself enter the process with 'such hope and excitement' and told how she was having some 'decompression time'.

She said: 'Hey everyone. Firstly thanks so much for everyone's support, I've had some incredible messages in my inbox. I am just having some decompression time.'

'It has been a very bitter sweet week for me. We ended in August so I have had some time to process things before the show aired. It was weird watching it back and seeing the hope and excitement that I had definitely has brought up feelings again.'

'I also have some stuff going on outside of this experience so I am not ignoring your messages I will respond I just need a few days to decompress and I will catch up with you soon.'

A source told The Sun of their breakup: 'As is so often the case with these dating shows, it's easy for a connection to flourish while in the bubble of filming - there's no distractions, no real life concerns and you're united in one common goal to find love.'

'Natalie and Paul's flame burned bright for a few months but balancing life on the outside with nurturing their fledgling relationship proved too tricky.'

'With Natalie in Bournemouth and Paul in Bath the distance wasn't insurmountable, but they were both independent people who had great lives of their own and in the end they decided their love wasn't greater than the hurdles.'

Natalie had previously posted on her grid saying: 'Hey everyone. Firstly just wanted to say thank you for the overwhelming support from everyone who has watched the show and how invested you have been with our journey.'

'It was an incredible experience and one that we will be forever grateful for taking part in.'

'Paul and I had an incredible experience in the retreat and loved every moment, we continued that connection over the summer and had some great times together.'

'Unfortunately in Early August, we decided to call a day on the relationship. We are both still friends and wish each other the best.'

'I also made some incredible friendships that I'm so grateful for. Thank you for your continued support and we're very thankful to itv for all we gained from the experience.'

My Mum, Your Dad continues on ITV at 9pm.
