NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - FOX 8 is excited to announce award-winning journalist, Stephen Stock, will join our team as our new Chief Investigative Reporter. Stock brings more than 40 years of television experience from the national and local level to WVUE's newsroom.

"Stephen has a proven track record of uncovering impactful stories and a steadfast commitment to truth and transparency," said WVUE-FOX 8 News Director Kristen Palestina. "His investigative journalism will strengthen WVUE's dedication to deliver the in-depth reporting our community deserves."

Stock has spent his career developing high-quality journalism across the country that exposes corruption and sparks change. His work has prompted Congressional hearings and changed state law in both Florida and California.

"I'm honored and thrilled to join such a legacy station and team where journalistic excellence is the standard and holding the powerful accountable is what we do," said Stephen Stock. "WVUE and Gray Media stand out in the entire industry with their commitment to telling meaningful stories that change lives, laws, and policies while improving the communities where we work and live. I'm humbled I've been asked to be part of that legacy and can't wait to join such a stellar team."

Since 2003, Stock helped establish and lead investigative teams in Orlando, Miami and San Francisco. He most recently served as National Investigative Correspondent for CBS News and Stations.

Over the course of his career, he's earned local, regional, and national recognition for his investigative work, including the prestigious Peabody Award, a duPont-Columbia Award, as well as several Edward R. Murrow Awards and Emmys.

"We couldn't be prouder to have Stephen Stock as our new Chief Investigative Reporter," said WVUE-FOX 8 Vice President and General Manager Mikel Schaefer. "Stephen is one of the most talented and credible journalists in this country. His body of investigative work is filled with impactful and relevant stories which are second to none. We are thrilled he will bring his experience and skill to New Orleans."

Stock will elevate WVUE's commitment to producing stories that matter to our region and enhance the newsroom's investigative capabilities. He'll continue the legacy built by Lee Zurik and lead our well-established investigative team which includes Rob Krieger, who is a duPont-Columbia Award finalist for his "Supplying a High" series, and Meg Gatto, whose investigative series, "Sinful Situation: Housing Horrors," changed state law.

Stock is scheduled to make his debut on FOX 8 News in January.
