England earned a convincing 3-0 win against Greece on Thursday evening, taking them closer to the top tier of the Uefa Nations League.

Ollie Watkins opening goal in the seventh minute was the fastest England goal in three years.

Their lead was extended in the second half as Jude Bellingham's shot rebounded off the post, then Greece's goalkeeper and into the net.

Then, Liverpool's Curtis Jones scored an outrageous back-heel on his Three Lions debut.

Another win against the Republic of Ireland on Sunday will see them promoted to League A - and one of the top groups of the Nations League tournament.

There are four 'mini leagues' in the European international tournament - League A, B, C and D.

The strongest teams go into groups in League A, with the lowest ranked sides relegated to League D.

The teams who finish in the top two spots in each of the four groups will go through to the quarter-finals in March.

The winners of these will go through to the semi-finals and then the final in June.

A good result for England will mean the have a slightly easier qualifying route to the 2026 World Cup.
