GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - It's fall in central Nebraska, and the Harvest of Harmony Parade has returned. Bands from across the state came to Grand Island on Saturday for this staple event that celebrates fall and music.

Bands, music and fun is what people come to see at the Harvest of harmony Parade for the past 81 years.

"One of the things I enjoy about it the most myself, growing up in a small community, a small school it gives some of those students a chance to kinda display their talents in a bigger spectrum that maybe they don't always get the attention," said Derek Tuxhorn, Giltner.

Even the youngest of attendees have a great appreciation for the show high school bands put on.

"My favorite part is watching the bands play seeing who wins the competition," said Jillian Verva.

"I love to listen to the bands and watch them perform," said Jaelyn Verva.

For Tuxhorn, attending Harvest of Harmony as a fan is a full-circle moment.

"It's a rewarding feeling, being that age, being in the band, you know, you put in lots of hours and lots of time and there's a lot of people make sacrifices and commitments for these students to be able to be apart of this," said Tuxhorn. "So then coming back to be able to support them cheer them on in a different fashion is has been a rewarding feeling."

Tuxhorn said Harvest of Harmony means fall has arrived.
