For the fifth straight week, Nebraska volleyball was No. 1 in the latest AVCA poll released Monday, while Creighton dropped two spots to No. 17.

The Huskers continued to hold the top spot, while No. 2 Stanford, No. 3 Pittsburgh, No. 4 Texas and No. 5 Wisconsin rounded out the top five.

Last week, Nebraska won the Big Ten title outright after sweeping Michigan and Iowa. At 27-0 (18-0 Big Ten), NU is off to its best starting since 2005, when the Huskers went 28-0 before losing the final regular-season match to Texas.

After averaging 5.67 digs per set, Lexi Rodriguez was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

The libero recorded 19 digs against Iowa and 15 against Michigan.

The Huskers' final two games of the regular season will be road matches against No. 5 Wisconsin on Friday at 3 p.m. and Minnesota on Saturday at 8 p.m. Both will be broadcast on BTN.

The Big Ten has four teams in the rankings this week, including No. 1 Nebraska, No. 5 Wisconsin, No. 13 Purdue and No. 14 Penn State. Minnesota is receiving votes. Future conference opponents also were in the poll with No. 6 Oregon and No. 24 USC.

After clinching a share of the Big East title for the 10th straight season, Creighton dropped to No, 17 in the latest poll.

The Bluejays closed out the regular season with sweeps of Xavier and Butler, and now head to the Big East tournament.

Earning the No. 1 seed, the Jays have a first-round bye and will take on the winner of Xavier and DePaul on Friday at 3 p.m. (FloSports). Should Creighton advance to the final, the championship match will be played on Saturday at 1 p.m. (FS2).

For her performance in Creighton's wins last week, Norah Sis was named the final Big East Offensive Player of the Week for the 2023 season.

She recorded match-high kills in both wins — 13 against Xavier and 16 against Butler.

Creighton is the lone Big East team in the rankings this week, though Marquette is receiving votes.
