New BRT system is an ugly affront to sensibilities

J.Lee1 hr ago

Never mind the incredible cost and complexity of the Bus Rapid Transit system in Madison. Never mind the obstruction of traffic and the inevitability of accident and injury related to loading buses in the middle of major thoroughfares while vehicles and their frustrated divers wait in "bus only" gridlock. Never mind the city of Madison cannot pay its operating budget without raising taxes yet spends hundreds of millions for a system only a slender fraction of Madisonians will use.

It's just so ugly.

The paint, the dots, the dashes, the lines, the barriers, the warnings and the tombstone street markers are all an affront to the sensibilities. It's an insult to those who thought Madison was a place worthy of being the capital of a beautiful and inviting state and an attractive place to live.

Think again.
