New change makes Walk ALS New Haven more valuable than ever

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven saw the return of ALS United Connecticut's largest fundraising event of the year Saturday morning: Walk ALS.

Walk ALS New Haven took place at Lighthouse Point and this year was different than most. A very generous supporter, who's name was not given, agreed to match every donation made to Walk ALS New Haven.

"The funds raised today support so many incredibly important local programs that we offer to people affected by ALS at no charge," said Jacky Rose, Executive Director at ALS United CT. Equipment, transportation resources, support groups, financial grants, ALS clinic grants, and more support, however we can do that, we're here."

ALS United strives to support those affected by ALS and bring that community together, providing them with crucial funds for research and care.

New Haven was not the only ALS walk this year. There was Walk ALS Hartford at Dunkin' Park in September and Walk ALS Westport will be on October 19th.
