FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity held a blessing ceremony overseen by Father Walt Jagela on Sunday at the construction sites for its three new homes in Fairmont.

The homes will be purchased by families in need at a mortgage between $500 and $700 a month with no interest. Habitat for Humanity worked with the city of Fairmont to secure the property, as well as MVB and the Federal Home Loan Bank for financial backing, and the volunteers who helped design and build the homes.

Elaine McVay, Executive Director of Mon Valley Habitat for Humanity said at the ceremony that Habitat for Humanity was "thankful for the blessings that we received and also asking for them for the families that will come to live in these homes."
