New H-Mart store in Urbana nears completion

URBANA, IL (WCIA) — The City of Urbana is getting closer to finishing the construction on the new H-Mart building.

The store will have Asian and western cuisines, a food court and a bakery.

City Officials said the project should be completed Dec. 18th.

"It's really going to be a catalyst for downtown to bring more people and, you know, have more variety of food options for our residents. And hopefully it brings visitors as well," Andrea Ruedi, senior advisor for integrated strategy development, said.

She said in January they'll have a grand opening and a hiring event on site. It'll be the first location south of Chicago.
