Newport News man arrested in South Carolina after fatal York County shooting
A man has been arrested in South Carolina in a fatal shooting in York County, according to the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office.
Just before midnight on Oct. 30, York County deputies were called to a spot near the Yorktown Square Apartments, just south of the Coleman Bridge.
They found 19-year-old Elysiah Lee-Jordan with two gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Lee-Jordan's sister, 24-year-old Dania N. Davis, was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds to her leg. The sheriff's office did not provide an update on her condition.
Jafay Jabarre Moore, a 26-year-old Newport News resident, was arrested Thursday in Sumter, South Carolina.
Moore has been charged with murder, the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless handling of a firearm.
Moore is being held in the Sumter County Detention Facility.
