EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in St. Anthony’s Center. Hostesses are Maureen Gosart, Kay Haddock, Johanna Malinowski, Victor Malinowski and Marge Zinkavich.

Plans for the Christmas party were discussed at the previous meeting. Reservations must be made by Tuesday, Nov. 18.

The jackpot prize was won by Aggie Abromavage. The 50-50 winners were Bernie Bednar, Sam Ferrara, Edith Jones and Antoinette Manganello, who also won the special game prize.

A trip has been scheduled to Sands Casino on Thursday, Nov. 13. Pick ups are in Exeter and Pittston. Club membership is not required for the trips. Call Johanna at 570-655-2720 for reservations and information.

FALLS: The Falls Active Adult Center, State Route 92, is offering free blood pressure screenings by Leslie Yuhas, licensed practical nurse, Wyoming Manor, from 11:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The center will hold its masquerade party on Friday, Oct. 31. Music will be provided from 11:30 a.m. to noon and 1-2 p.m. by the Jolly Seniors. There will be fun and games and the October birthdays will be celebrated.

The Book Club will meet 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 3, to discuss “Kids for Cash” by William Ecenbarger.

There will be a special Veterans Day lunch on Thursday, Nov.6, followed by a special bingo lead by Joan Krispin from the Meadows.

James May, a former member of the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, will perform a special Veteran’s Day musical tribute on Friday, Nov. 7.

LUZERNE/WYOMING COUNTIES: The Area Agency on Aging would like to remind the recipients of the 2014 Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers that they have until Nov. 30 to redeem them.

These vouchers can only be used to purchase locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables at participating farmers market stands of the Department of Agriculture’s SFMNP. Baked goods, meat, jam, honey, apple cider or eggs are not allowable purchases.

MOUNTAIN TOP: The Mountain Top Social Club will meet with doors opening at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at St. Jude Church in the Father Nolan hall day room. New members are welcome. Bakers are Irma Coniglio, Mary Dopp and Betty Czeck. Officers for next year will be decided.

Members who have not signed up for the Christmas party on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at the Sand Springs Restaurant, are requested to do so now. For more information call Otto at 570-407-0056.

SWOYERSVILLE: The Swoyersville Senior Citizens will meet at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Winners of the 50-50 fundraiser at the previous meeting were Clara Belle Reggie, Jennie Engleand and Madeline Barush.

WILKES-BARRE: The Firwood Senior Citizen Club will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, in the meeting room of the Firwood United Methodist Church on Dagobert St. and Old River Road. Refreshments will be served at 1 p.m., followed by a business meeting. There will be a presentation by Rick Frantz of the Medicine Shop.

The next trip will be on Tuesday, Nov. 18, to the American Music Theatre in Lancaster to see “Joy To the World.”

The annual Christmas party is planned from noon to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at R & D Memories, Fellows Avenue, Hanover Township. Entertainment will be provided by the Orpheus Choral Society.
