Just hours before Sunday's Week 3 slate of games, the NFL handed out punishments from last week's action.

Cincinnati Bengals star Ja'Marr Chase got the worst of things, receiving a $31,599 fine for his "abusive language" toward an official against the Kansas City Chiefs last Sunday.

The 24-year-old star wide receiver wasn't the only Bengals players docked by the league on Saturday either. One of Chase's fellow wideouts is also lighter in the pocket.

According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero , "The NFL fined Bengals WR Andrei Iosivas $5,305 for unsportsmanlike conduct/violent gesture - a bow-and-arrow celebration last week."

Many fans on social media were irate over the league's decision.

"That's the softest s*** I've heard in my life. Government levels of stealing money," one fan wrote .

"What?!?!?!?! How is this even a thing?" another chimed in .

"This is straight up just theft at this point," added another.

"The #NFL just handed out $166k in fines and over half of these are so soft like are you kidding me," someone remarked .

The second-year receiver finished the game with only two catches for seven yards, but both receptions were touchdowns from Joe Burrow. Through two games, the 24-year-old Iosivas has caught five of his 10 targets for 33 yards.

According to NFL Operations , a first offense fine for unsportsmanlike conduct is standardized at $14,069, the same New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr was fined for his Week 2 Michael Jackson-inspired celebration.

So, Iosivas' punishment was deemed less detrimental than that threshold.
