NFL Insider Names Tee Higgins, Pickens, Amari, Hopkins, Kirk as Chiefs Trade Options

Matt Kelley/ The Kansas City Chiefs may be in the market for a wide receiver at the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic believes that the Chiefs could potentially make a move at the deadline and listed Amari Cooper, Tee Higgins, George Pickens, Christian Kirk and DeAndre Hopkins as some names to watch.

Kansas City is 4-0 and chasing after a third consecutive Super Bowl. However, the team had to place top receiver Rashee Rice on injured reserve with a knee injury and could be in need of a strong addition at the top of the depth chart.

Cooper is in the final season of his contract with the Cleveland Browns and could hit unrestricted free agency this offseason. With the Browns showing some struggles thus far in 2024, moving on from the receiver and recouping some value could be a solid option.

He has made 16 catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns in 2024.

Tee Higgins is another player who is approaching unrestricted free agency and could be a quality add for the Chiefs. He has nine catches for 99 yards in 2024 and has recorded two 1,000 yard seasons in his career.

The Cincinnati Bengals would likely prefer to hold on to him for a potential playoff run but if the team starts to fall out of contention, a move could be a solid option.

Pickens is the top wide receiver for a 3-1 Pittsburgh Steelers team and it would be tough to imagine the team giving him away. However, the 23-year-old is still on his rookie deal and would fit into the Chiefs plans for two years, so the Steelers could ask for a significant trade package to secure his services.

Kirk is the top option on a Jacksonville Jaguars team that is having a difficult season. He has two years remaining on his deal and is due $30 million total, but Kansas City could move around some salary and add a strong option for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Hopkins has 10 catches for 121 yards and a touchdown in 2024 and has done this for a 1-3 Titans team that has struggled with turnovers and offensive production. He had been previously linked to Kansas City in 2023 free agency before landing in Tennessee.

Kansas City has $4.7 million in available cap space, per Over The Cap . Money will have to be moved to grab a strong option, but it may be necessary in Rice's absence.
