Two-seed West Morris, the No. 20 ranked team in the NJ.com Top-20 rankings, watched senior Lauren Carbon steer them to a 4-3 victory over 15-seed Montville during the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Group 2 Tournament in Chester. Carbon tallied two goals and had an assist to help West Morris avoid the upset and advance to the quarterfinals. Macy Sabo registered a goal and an assist during the victory and Kelsey Mack knocked in a goal as well for the Wolfpack. Kaia Jackson and Madison Candura both had an assist in the win and Sania Madane grabbed two saves for West Morris, who is 12-2 in its last 14 games. West Morris (17-4-1) will host seven-seed Hackettstown in the quarterfinals on Thursday. Nicole Hafley, Vivienne Palmiero and Parker Failla each scored a goal for Montville (6-13-1). Juliana O'Dowd recorded two assists in the contest for the Mustangs.
