No more scams: Convicted contractor nabbed, sentenced
o. – It's the end of the road for contractor Raymond Alexander. He had bolted from St. Charles County after being accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from homeowners like Kathy McBee and Debbra Arndt.
Police bodycam video of his arrest in Quincy, Illinois, reveals his final moments in the free world before being sentenced to nine years in prison.
We showed the video of Alexander's capture to McBee and Arndt.
"It's amazing. My blood pressure just went completely down," Arndt said.
McBee added, "It was absolutely wonderful to look at him and realize, this is your last time scamming anybody for a very long time."
The two women paid a combined $12,500 for work that never started. It's just a fraction of Alexander's theft, according to St. Charles County Prosecutor Joe McCulloch.
"This is one of those cases that really affect a lot of people out here," he said.

Alexander pleaded guilty to felony stealing this week—for crimes that happened when he was already on felony probation.
McCulloch added, "Within months, I'm telling you—within months—he was back to his old tricks of conning other people."
Arndt and McBee also got the chance to face Alexander inside the St. Charles County Courthouse.
"He sees me and another witness sitting on the bench and just kind of kept staring at us as if it were going to offend us—and we just kept looking," Arndt said.
The judge then sentenced Alexander to nine years in prison.
"It wasn't about the money. We all knew the money wasn't coming back. It was about making sure that we stopped him," McBee added.
