Northeast Indiana NOW providing free Uber rides to polling places

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - Northeast Indiana NOW (National Organization for Women) will be offering free Uber rides to the polls for the 2024 election cycle.

With funding from a grant through the NOW Foundation, voters will be able to get a free ride from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Oct. 8 through Nov. 5. The rides will be available for those within the greater Allen County area.

Rides will be provided to and from the Rousseau Centre or their precinct polling location.

Those looking to utilize the offer can do so by scanning the QR codes below or going to the appropriate provided link.

Each ride has a maximum value of $25 in each direction and "is for the sole purpose of transporting participants to get to the polls to vote."

Voters can verify their registration status and polling location by going to indianavoters.com .

"We hope this option will give everyone who may have a transportation concern the ability to get out and vote," said NOW Northeast Indiana Chapter President Kieran O'Dowd.
