Nov. 16: Holiday Market at Carthage Area Rescue Squad

The Carthage Area Rescue Squad will be hosting a holiday market from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at their location at 200 Riverside Drive in Carthage.

The market will featured a number of local small businesses. There will be items such as homemade candles, woodworking, drinkware and more.

A number of raffle baskets will also be drawn during the event.

The Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) on Saturday released footage showing an officer's alleged use of excessive force against Lich Vu, a 70-year-old Asian man with bone cancer, during a traffic violation encounter in late October. A police officer arrived at the scene and issued both drivers a ticket for an improper U-turn. An arrest report gives more details about what occurred before a man was shot to death Wednesday in the 3200 block of West Edgewood Avenue. Investigators observed surveillance video that showed the victim driving an orange Chevrolet Camaro with orange rims at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and New Kings Road, according to the JSO arrest report for Lavertis Reed, 20, who was charged with murder in the shooting. As the victim's vehicle crossed the intersection, a white vehicle with dark rims was observed on the surveillance video driving south at a high rate of speed on New Kings Road, the arrest report states.
