Now That The Eagles Won, Let's Talk About How Ridiculous That Jalen Carter Interception On A Spike Would Have Been

E.Nelson3 months ago

Then the Eagles shut them out in the 2nd half, went on to win the game, and finally we can say...

So when Jalen Carter dove through the legs of Creed Humphrey in an attempt to pick off that last spike to set up a Chiefs' field goal, it was hard to get overly excited about how sick of a play that would have been. Before you even had a chance to think about how cool that would have been, the Chiefs put another 3 points on the board before halftime.

We can all admit that the Eagles played like dog shit in the first half of that game last night. The touchdown drive looked great, and the initial 3&out from the defense was a nice start. But after that, it was just a miserable display of football. What makes the Eagles so special is that they always win the battle in the trenches, but they were getting pushed around all over the place in that first half.

Giphy Images.

It's one thing to get the idea in the first place. It's another thing to even attempt the idea once it's already in your head. It's another thing to come that close to actually executing the idea. I mean it was right there for him.

Jalen Carter is 6'3" and weighs 315 lbs. That's not a man who should be quick and nimble enough to dive through another man's legs and almost pull off one of the best plays in football. But Jalen Carter isn't just any ordinary 6'3", 315lb dude. Jalen Carter is a freak. Jalen Carter is special. And Jalen Carter loves ball so much that he just stays up at all hours of the night watching random high school clips on YouTube that are then stored in his brain waiting to be unlocked whenever necessary.

To think that there were 8 teams in the league who passed up on having this guy on their team is laughable. Just look at this menace go.

And this dude is just getting started.

I don't know if the Eagles are going to win a Super Bowl this year. I can't predict the future. But one thing I can tell you with complete certainty is that at some point in his career, Jalen Carter is going to intercept an attempted spike. And it's going to be glorious. Just think about how much mental havoc that is going to wreak on Patrick Mahomes if these teams meet up again in the Super Bowl and he can't even spike the ball without having to worry about Jalen Carter ruining his life. God I love this guy.
