Numbers for newly traded for Pittsburgh Steelers revealed

R.Anderson28 min ago
New Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Williams and edge rusher Preston Smith are at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex and set to likely practice on Wednesday with the team.

Williams will wear No. 18, the number he wore with the New York Jets. Anthony Averett last wore that number in a regular-season game, but Diontae Johnson was the last player to wear it. Johnson was traded to the Carolina Panthers in March.

Smith will wear No. 91, the same number that he wore with the Green Bay Packers. Rookie defensive lineman Logan Lee last wore No. 91, but he will switch to No. 61. Lee wore No. 74 in training camp. He is currently on injured reserve with a calf injury.

Both players are now on the 53-man roster and could play on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Pittsburgh has a full roster and practice squad after making moves on Tuesday to fill out both.
