NYC Taskforce To Crack Down On Roosevelt Ave Sex Trafficking "Operation Restore Roosevelt" will launch for 90 days and cover the avenue from 74th Street to 111th Street, officials said.

QUEENS, NY — Mayor Eric Adams along with other city agencies have launched a task force to target ongoing crime and sex trafficking on Roosevelt Avenue.

"Operation Restore Roosevelt" will launch for 90 days and cover the avenue from 74th Street to 111th Street, officials said.

The NYPD, sanitation department, homeless services and the Queens District Attorney's Office will be spearheading the task force.

Adams said crime and prostitution have plagued Roosevelt Avenue.

"We will end sex trafficking in this area. We are not here for one day and go away. We're here for the problem to go away," he said at a press conference.

The NYPD will send nine lieutenants, 42 sergeants and 176 police officers to patrol the area.

Similarly, Gov. Kathy Hochul deployed New York state troopers on Tuesday to help the NYPD along Roosevelt Avenue, according to a New York Post report .
