The organizers behind Ocean Beach Oktoberfest announced the return of their annual event set for Oct. 11-12 where Newport Avenue meets the beach.

In its 22nd year, San Diego's wildest Oktoberfest is going bigger and better than before with double the beachfront footprint, the addition of a new Electronica Stage showcasing a lineup of DJs, two expanded VIP areas, and drink specials. The returning Jägermeister Main Stage will feature top acts such as Mickey Avalon, Jakobs Castle, and Electric Waste Band, and host the Joey Chestnut x Jägermeister Guinness World Record.

"We're thrilled to be expanding our already nationally-recognized festival to offer new and exciting experiences to the San Diego community," said Scott Slaga, the event founder and local. "We've been so lucky to have locals and visitors come out year after year to support our event, and sponsors like Jägermeister that make the weekend so spectacular. We're confident the additions we've made this year will take OB Oktoberfest to the next level."

The two-day event will feature live music from both local and nationally touring artists including Sandollar, Sunsquabi, High Tide Society, Band of Gringos, and more . Partygoers can kick off the event in OB Oktoberfest fashion with two-for-one beers on Friday from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday from noon-2 p.m., along with a Mr. and Ms. Oktoberfest competition, the traditional stein holding contest, brat eating, pretzel toss, and more. Attendees 21-plus can enjoy traditional German brews, local beer, wine, spirits, and food.

Proceeds from OB Oktoberfest will benefit the Ocean Beach MainStreet Association (specifically the Friends of OB Program), The Peninsula Alliance , and The Warrior Foundation Freedom Station . The event raises over $50,000 per year for community partners and has raised $750,000 total to date.

General admission is $15 and is available at the gate. Those interested in VIP tickets for $59 can purchase ahead of time here , which includes entrance, a custom one-liter OB Oktoberfest mug filled with two beers, access to two exclusive VIP areas, a sky bar experience, upgraded restrooms, and priority re-entry.
