Oktoberfest celebrations, swap meets and River City Rodeo highlight this weekend's events

Fremont Eagles Club open, 3 p.m. to midnight, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The club may stay open later or close early depending on business. The Nebraska football game begins at 7 p.m. There will be a pasta bar from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Proceeds will go to Kellsie's Hope Foundation to support granting wishes for kids battling cancer. Everyone is welcome.

River City Rodeo, 7:30 p.m., CHI Health Center Omaha. The event will include two nights of high-caliber PRCA action featuring all seven rodeo events, including steer wrestling, team roping and bull riding. World champion cowboys will compete at the rodeo for their official entry into the National Finals Rodeo. Tickets are available online at ticketmaster.com .

Railroad Days, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Council Bluffs, Iowa. Everyone is invited to celebrate the city's rich railroad heritage and place in history as historic Mile Zero for Union Pacific Railroad with numerous train-themed activities and locations to visit. A trolley will transport participants to the Union Pacific Railroad Museum, Hoff Family Arts & Culture Center, RailsWest Railroad Museum, Historic General Dodge House, and the Historic 100 Block of West Broadway to take part in numerous hands-on activities with interactive technology and exhibits that explore the vast world of the railroad. Passes for the family event are $20 per group, which includes two adults and unlimited children under 18. An additional adult pass can be bought for $10. Opening of "The Lost World of Dragons" exhibit, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., The Durham Museum, Omaha. "The Lost World of Dragons" celebrates the history of and science behind how the dragon myth has grown through the ages and cultures. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 31. Museum admission is $15 for adults, $12 for seniors ages 62 and over and military/veterans, $8 for children ages 3-12, and free for children 2 years and under.

Falling Leaves Craft and Vendor Fair, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Currency Pavilion, Sandhills Global Event Center, Lincoln. Admission is free.

Five-0-Five Brewing Oktoberfest, noon to 10 p.m., Five-0-Five Brewing Company, 349 N. Main St., Fremont. This outdoor event will take place on Fourth Street, just west of Main Street. It will include German style beers, local food trucks, Hammerslagen, cornhole, stein holding competitions and jumbo Jenga. Admission is $5 at the door. There will be limited edition mugs for sale while supplies last. Customers are encouraged to bring their own stein to drink from during the celebration.

Summer's End Show & Shine, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tangier Shrine Center, 2823 S. 84th St., Omaha. Registration will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Sponsor awards for cars, trucks and motorcycles will be presented at 3 p.m. There will be food, drinks, raffles, door prizes and DJ music. Everyone is welcome. Proceeds will benefit Tangier Vintage Iron Club activities.

Riggle Family Benefit, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., The Vault Event Center, 212 N. Oakland Ave., Oakland. Everyone is invited to help support Joe Riggle and his three children with financial expenses after their wife/mother, Tara Riggle, died unexpectedly in July. Sloppy joes, chips, desserts and drinks will be served for a freewill donation. Raffle tickets will be sold for gift baskets. Monetary donations also may be sent to the family care of First Northeast Bank of Nebraska in Oakland.

Sunday at the Museum, 2-4 p.m., Neihardt State Historic Site, Bancroft. The speaker program will feature a presentation on Clara Bewick Colby by Laureen Riedesel. Colby was the adoptive mother of Zintka Laluni, or "Lost Bird," a baby who survived the Wounded Knee Massacre. This event is free and open to the public. A light reception will follow the presentation.

Opening of "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean," 7:30 p.m., Kimmel Theatre on the Midland University campus, Fremont. The production delves into themes of identity, memory and community through the lens of a fan club for James Dean, meeting in a small Texas town in the 1950s. Shows will continue through Sept. 28. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and free for members of the Fremont Midland Entertainment Series. Late Nights at the Zoo: Croctorberfest, 7:30-10:30 p.m., Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. Adults ages 21 and over are invited to enjoy the best food and beverage offerings of the season as they learn about crocodiles and alligators through exhibits, interactive experiences and educational talks at Omaha's award-winning zoo. There also will be games and croc-star karaoke. Barry Boyce Band will be playing at the Harper Event Center while The Happy Players will be performing on the Desert Dome Plaza. General admission is $33.
