Omaha men's soccer beats SIU-Edwardsville

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. — Junior Casillas' first goal of the season gave Omaha men's soccer a 1-0 win over SIU-Edwardsville on Sunday afternoon.

The senior from Lexington scored with 21:22 left in the game off an assist from Omaha South's Abdi Adan to defeat a SIUE team that went 16-1-3 and played in the NCAA tournament last season

UNO controlled possession most of the way as it outshot SIUE 14-5. Nathanael Sallah made two saves as UNO recorded its third shutout this season.

UNO got its first win since Sept. 1 as it improves to 5-1-2. The Mavs next open Summit League play at Tulsa on Saturday.
