A.Williams3 hr ago

Our election coverage continues with a look at Florida's Amendment 2. Advocates say it enshrines time-honored traditions and economic opportunities in the state's Constitution. Opponents worry about potential ecological impacts and say it would invite a return to practices that are polluting and inhumane.

Guests:

James Scott, campaign coordinator for the NoTo2.org Erin Johnson, director of the North Florida Marine Association

Then, we talk to a Jacksonville native and Florida State University doctoral student who was recently awarded a Fulbright scholarship. Danielle Wiransky, who is pursuing a Ph.D. in history, will use the scholarship in Jerusalem, where she plans to conduct archival research at Yad Vashem, Israel's official memorial to victims of the Holocaust. Her research will focus primarily on the experiences of female agents of the Special Operations Executive during World War II.

And, finally, we'll discuss creating a healthy environment around the November elections. An upcoming journaling workshop and voter registration event hopes to reduce anxiety and encourage positive discussions surrounding 2024.
