One dead after Cap Metro bus, motorcycle collision in north Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — One person is dead after a Tuesday morning collision between a motorcycle and vehicle at Avenue F and East Koenig Lane, per a social media post from Austin-Travis County EMS.

ATCEMS said the crash happened at 7:40 a.m. A spokesperson with CapMetro confirmed one of their buses was involved in the crash.

"An incident involving a CapMetro bus and a motorcyclist occurred earlier this morning at approximately 8:00 a.m. near Koenig Lane and Avenue F. CapMetro is coordinating with the Austin Police Department (APD), Fire Department (AFD), and Austin-Travis County EMS, who responded to the incident. An investigation is still ongoing," a CapMetro spokesperson said.

A second person was taken to Seton Medical Center with minor injuries, according to ATCEMS. KXAN reached out to the Austin Police Department regarding lane closures and will update this when we know more.
