One fatally shot in Temple, one person in custody

Temple, Tx ( FOX 44 ) – One person has been killed and Temple police say one person is in custody following an incident near Santa Fe Plaza Thursday morning.

Police were flagged down in the400 block of West Ave A about 8 a.m. and were told there had been an incident in the park. Arriving officers found the victim and immediately began life saving measures on the victim. A description of a person involved along with information on the vehicle he was driving was broadcast with a constable spotting the suspect vehicle a short time later.

Emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and took over treatment of the victim but the victim was pronounced dead at 8:24 a.m.

The suspect has been detained and police say there is no danger to the public.
