A Davenport house is a total loss after a fire about 3:45 p.m. Saturday on the 1100 block of West 59th Street. Fire crews responded Saturday afternoon to smoke coming from the back of the house. Heavy fire took over the second story. Crews found heavy smoke throughout the house. Crews say the fire was in an upstairs bedroom, where the blaze was extinguished. Two dogs made it out safely. The Red Cross is helping the family that was displaced. One occupant suffered minor smoke inhalation and was assessed on the scene before being transported to MercyOne Genesis East Medical Center by Medic EMS of Scott County.
