One vote separates OPUD incumbent, challenger

One vote separated the incumbent and a challenger for the First District seat on the Olivehurst Public Utility District Board of Directors, with more results expected to be released Wednesday, according to Yuba County Clerk-Recorder Donna Hillegaas.

Denise Burbank held a one vote lead over Dustin Daundivier, 234-233, when Hillegass released the latest results on Saturday. The vote was unchanged from the third release of voting totals on election night.

Hillegass estimated there were approximately 14,000 ballots still left uncounted, including mail ballots, damaged ballots, and ballots with signatures still to be verified. It was unclear how many of those ballots were cast in the First District OPUD race.

In the District Five race for the OPUD Board, incumbent Marc Perrault was comfortably ahead of challenger Brinna Garrett, 817-602 votes.

In other Yuba County elections, Measure G Wednesday had 1,584 votes in support to 527 against. The ballot measure continues the one cent sales tax for city services approved by voters in 2016, which is set to expire in 2026.

Marysville City Council: Marjory Rollins (1,057 votes) and incumbent Stuart Gilchrist (960), held an advantage over Codi Walker (758) in a contest for two open seats.

Marysville Joint Unified School District Board of Trustees, Stephan Fuhrer (482 votes) was ahead of incumbent Randy L. Davis (363) in area one; incumbent Gary Criddle (1,060 votes) was ahead of Ricardo Galicia (994) and Catherine Ewing (375) in area two; Oliver Taylor (1,700 votes) was leading incumbent Alisan Hastey (1,162) in area three; and incumbent Doug Criddle (2,495) was ahead of Trish Vega (1,499) in area four.Wheatland City Council, three seats: Brian Abe (484 votes), Lisa McIntosh (355), and John Abe (352) held advantage over Jay Pendergraph (290) and Charles Prevedelli (280).

Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors: Incumbent Charlie Mathews (4,447 votes) was defeating Rancy Fletcher (3,271) for the at large seat representing north of Yuba River.

Plumas Lake Elementary School District Board of Trustees (two seats): John Barnes (912 votes) and Cody Hess (855) held an advantage over David Villanueva (642) and Israel Camacho (593).

Wheatland Unified School District bond measures: all three bond measures, A, B, and C, to refurbish the existing high school campus in Wheatland and to sell bonds to build a high school in Plumas Lake were meeting opposition from 60 to 65 percent of the voters. The bond measures require approval by 55 percent of the voters.
