OPD arrest juveniles over alleged Apollo High School threat

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Owensboro Police have arrested two juveniles after they allegedly made threats against Apollo High School and a faculty member.

According to a post from OPD, officers were notified about a school shooting threat that was made on Snapchat on September 18. Juveniles from Emerson Academy and Apollo High School were interviewed, and it was determined a threat was made against Apollo High School and a faculty member.

An Emerson Academy student was charged with terroristic threatening, and an Apollo High School student was charged with terroristic threatening (conspiracy). Both were taken into custody and transported to the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.

This comes after national threats were made to schools across the Tri-State. Last week, a student at Owensboro High School was arrested after a post he made on Snapchat was perceived as a threat.
