‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Trailer Heads for Blackbeard’s Treasure, Netflix Reveals Mobile Game

The Pogues go more global than ever before in Netflix 's season four trailer for Outer Banks , released Tuesday.

"You might be wondering what happens after you find the lost city of El Dorado and you're stranded with a sack full of gold," Chase Stokes ' John B says at the beginning of the trailer . "Let me catch you up."

Also Tuesday, Netflix announced the release of a new interactive mobile game, Netflix Stories: Outer Banks, set for release Oct. 29, just before the second half of season four premieres.

"Step into the world of Outer Banks and make choices that impact your story," a release reads. "When you learn your estranged father has gone missing, you buy a one-way ticket to the Outer Banks to find the half-brother you've never met."

Netflix has previously released Netflix Stories mobile games for shows such as Emily in Paris, Selling Sunset, Virgin River, Love is Blind and more.

The end of Outer Banks season three featured an 18-month flash-forward previewing Wes Genrette's proposal for the ragtag group of Outer Banks teens to find Blackbeard's treasure. Per Netflix's press release, season four "takes us back in time to the lead-up of that moment."

In the trailer, the Pogues struggle with financial setbacks — at one point Pope (Jonathan Daviss) tells the group they have a $13,000 payment due in seven days, to which John B says, "We're screwed."

Cornered by their debt, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope and Cleo then take Genrette up on his offer to seek whatever Blackbeard's shipwreck hides 80 feet below the ocean's surface.

"Before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure," the release continues. "Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they're forced to question their past, present, and future — who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?"

Outer Banks stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline , Jonathan Daviss, Madison Bailey, Rudy Pankow, Carlacia Grant, Drew Starkey and Austin North.

Netflix will release the first five episodes of Outer Banks season four on Oct. 10. The second five will come the following month on Nov. 7.
