Over 30 Italian meals to be served at the Taste of Italy festival in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Taste of Italy festival at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Springfield will take place on Saturday.

Oktoberfest in Springfield kicks off with German food and fun

The Taste of Italy will offer over 30 favorite Italian meals, from main dishes to side dishes and even an exceptional dessert table for an after-meal treat. Some of the meals that will be served and their cooks are:

  • Ricotta Ravioli – Rosemarie Rueli Costa and Susan Rueli Manchester

  • Stuffed Peppers – Roseanne Stirlacci

  • Lentil Soup – Maria Romeo

  • Gnocchi – Anne Marie Iellamo

  • Chicken Cacciatori – Victoria Ceravolo Green

  • Zuppa di Clams – George Tazzini III and Megan Settes

  • Luganica and Peppers – Milano Imports, the Recchia Family

  • Eggplant Rollatini – Ciro's Restaurant

  • Pasta Bolognese – Frigo Foods Inc., The Frigo Family

  • Ziti Broccoli & Chicken – Elaine Planzo

  • Italian Wedding Soup – Dorothy and Michael DiVinuto

  • Cirone – Anne Marie Iellamo

  • Meatball Grinders – Albano Foods, Raffaela and Ricardo Albano

  • Eggplant Parmigiana/White Sauce – Maria Romeo

  • Meatballs – Mom & Rico's, the Daniele Family

  • Stuffed Shells – Joanne Porfilio

  • Stuffed Shells – Partner's Restaurant, Mark and Sue Tansey

  • Insalata di Baccala – Rosemarie Rueli Costa

  • Insalata di Calamari – Bill Caruana and Fr. White

  • Italian Macaroni and Cheese – Mia Angela Pasternak

  • Chicken Parmigiana – Storrowton, Dianne and Andy Calvanese

  • Eggplant Rollatini – Charles Becker, Italian Cultural Center

  • Chicken Francese – Lori Christofori

  • Ziti and Meatballs – Filomena Santanello

  • Surprise Recipe – Billy Caruana and Fr. White

  • Food tickets will be sold at the door, and everyone will be able to choose Italian "tastes" they prefer to buy. Food will also be available for purchase to take home.

    This celebration is part of Italian Heritage Month and will begin with Mass in the Church located on William Street at 4 p.m. Dinner will held from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South End Middle School auditorium.

    Italian music will be played and a Grand Raffle and 50-50 raffle will be held at 7:00 p.m.
