Overlooked Shedeur Sanders Enters Heisman Debate Again After RGIII’s Shock Travis Hunter Take
Z.Baker54 min ago
The Heisman trophy contention is cranking up, with a handful of bigwigs counting their stat to make a good impression on the odds. But if you say the needle mover, we can only hear Colorado Buffaloes with their two giant stars, Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, sitting atop the list. While the Buffs are focusing on bigger prizes, the individual glory of two of their assets is taking all the spotlight. Travis Hunter has always been the front-runner of the Heisman race with a breakout performance in this season and beyond. Shedeur Sanders was running a step behind his peer. But wait, was there a swap between the sensational teammates? RGIII's quintessential Heisman trophy betting odds bring out an unexpected boost for the Sanders kid. Just a few months back, if someone talked about Hunter even having competition in his Heisman trophy contention, you might have laughed it off. However, the situation took a pear shape for the two-way star when he got injured during a flop Kansas State game and missed two consecutive weeks of the season (one for injury walkout and one bye week). Quite unsurprisingly, his Heisman candidacy hit a roadblock. But the phenom didn't give up. Despite Boise State's Ashton Jeanty taking up his top spot amidst the setback, he remains confident in his ability. But now, as RGIII released his regular Heisman watch list, the 21-year-old's stellar two-way play was left in the background by no Ashton Jeanty or any other newcomer but by his own Colorado buddy, Shedeur Sanders. Shedeur Sanders wasn't one of the leading contenders for the Heisman role. But he is still in the race with 5500 plus odds, marking the 12th highest in the list. But as he continues to hone his craft and delivers in time of need, maybe the Heisman spot takes a sudden surge, and that too surpasses the beating heart of the Colorado Buffs, Travis Hunter. People slammed the Coach Prime favorite for not being in the top 5. But Hunter took no nonsense and quickly bounced back from his injury woes during a blockbuster game against the Cincinnati Bearcats. He caught the voters off guard, racking up nine receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns. Boom! the Heisman hope is back on track again! But take it slow, all the Hunter fans! Another storyline involving his obscured competition with Shedeur Sanders is here for your watch. But the only good part is that the completion is only on pen and paper. There is no real bad blood between two best friends cum peers.Shedeur Sanders is rooting for Travis Hunter to bring the Heisman Trophy home Coach Deion Sanders has always been Travis Hunter's biggest cheerleader. After his boy silenced all the critics with a spellbound comeback performance and restored his season stat, Sanders' father instinct couldn't help screaming, 'Travis is the best football player in the country,". But he was not alone in advocating for the Colorado star who rose from the ashes after a carer-breaking injury and put everyone in their place. Shedeur Sanders sang the same as his father but with some added layer of emotion. Sheduer and Travis both led the Buffs to a statement 34-23 against Cincinnati, but when it came to adding more stacks to the Heisman odds, the junior Sanders was backing his non-biological brother all along. "It is what it is. I don't look too deep into that. I just want Travis to win, of course, and that would be almost like I won because I throw the ba-l. Yeah. So, with Travis, Travis is the best player in college football, hands down. And I'm excited for him to win it. That's truly what would make my day right there," the sportsmanship once again shined through all the cheap comparison narrative swirling over the lore. It will be interesting to see after the final stretch of the season which of the Colorado gems gets their coveted Heisman prize ( if Ashton Jeanty doesn't steal both of their show). What's your take on Shedeur Sanders surpassing Travis Hunter in a rare Heisman odds list? Let us know in the comments.
