I am a Vietnam war veteran who will not be voting for Donald Trump. Although there are numerous reasons not to vote for him, I would like to focus on just one topic. I served in Vietnam in 1967 and 1968 at the height of the war. I served alongside of men and women who displayed the highest level of honor and patriotism. One of my closest comrades and I, unknowingly, spent the last night of his life together discussing the war and the meaning and essence of life itself. Roy, who was a company commander and my dear friend, was brutally killed the next day. To my complete distress and anguish I witnessed the remains of his body being removed from the battlefield in a wicker basket. Roy was the most honorable and patriotic man I personally knew in Vietnam who bravely put his life on the line for our country. Roy, a Gold Star Veteran, was a true hero, and not as Donald Trump so heartlessly and cruelly has described our fallen Americans soldiers as . . . "Losers and Suckers". Mr. Trump, you who purposely avoided serving our country during the Vietnam war, are a coward and an embarrassment to this country, and hopefully you do not receive one vote from any true patriotic American.
