Palmyra man pleads guilty to producing child pornography
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Palmyra man accused of sexually abusing a child pleaded guilty to child pornography production.
Authorities began looking into 54-year-old John C. Aldrich IV after receiving a tip that he had been physically and sexually abusing a minor in Palmyra.
The investigation uncovered messages that revealed Aldrich was involved in ongoing sexual abuse against a child and produced child pornography. Prosecutors said this took place on a weekly basis for over a year starting when the victim was 14 years old.
Aldrich was arrested last April. He was originally charged with the production, receipt, possession, and distribution of child pornography and enticement of a minor. On Thursday, he pleaded guilty to the production of child pornography.
He is expected to be sentenced to a minimum of 15 years in prison, a maximum of 30 years, and a $250,000 fine. He will be scheduled on March 12, 2025.
