Participants needed for clinical trials for norovirus
Nevada Health Centers, Nevada's largest Federally Qualified Community Health Center program, joined forces with Javara in 2023, to bring clinical research to Nevadans, beginning in the greater Carson City area.
To date, NVHC has received a total of seven trial opportunities, and two are currently activated and offered at Sierra Nevada Health Center in Carson City.
These include a norovirus vaccine study and a cardiovascular disease study. Plans are in place to expand the clinical research program to other NVHC facilities in the state.
NVHC and Javara are actively seeking participants to join the norovirus vaccine clinical trial to develop an effective vaccine to prevent this disease.
Those who are interested in the norovirus vaccine study will go through a pre-screening process to determine if they are eligible. There is no cost to participate, and patients are compensated for time and travel.
Participating in clinical trials offers a variety of benefits for patients while supporting medical advances and enabling researchers to find new ways to prevent, detect, and treat disease. Participants also may get access to new treatments before they are widely available and receive expert care from the clinical trial providers.
