Partnership for Strong Families drive calls for toy donations

C.Wright40 min ago

Partnership for Strong Families (PSF) has issued a call for community members to donate to the Wish Upon a Star toy drive, the organization's largest annual donation drive.

Donations to the drive help bring gifts to over 1,100 children in the child welfare system, who often spend the holiday season away from their biological families.

"The holidays can be a particularly difficult time for children in foster care," Ginger Griffeth, CEO of Partnership for Strong Families, said in a release. "Wish Upon a Star is our way of reminding these youth that they are seen, cared for, and valued. Through the generosity of our community, we can ensure that no child in care feels forgotten this holiday season."

Donors can participate in any of the following ways:

Sponsor a Child's Wish List—sign up here :

A "star" will be provided for each sponsored child, listing their top three holiday wishes. Donors are asked to fulfill at least two wishes, with a $60 minimum per child. Gifts can be donated in two ways:

  • Drop off at PSF – shop in person and deliver unwrapped gifts to Campus USA Headquarters in Jonesville at a scheduled time.
  • Amazon Wish List – PSF will provide an Amazon Wish List link and gifts will be sent directly to PSF.
  • Help "Stuff the Sleigh"—sign up here :

  • When children enter foster care after the toy drive has begun, it is challenging to meet last-minute requests, so donors can purchase general toys and either drop them off or order from an Amazon Wish List.
  • Monetary contributions—sign up here :

  • Donations can be made online or by sending cash or check, payable to Partnership for Strong Families, with "Wish Upon a Star" in the memo line.
